Last week at the headquarters of our team visited the famous German Osteopath Thorsten Fischer, who spent testing and treatment of several players.

For what purpose we tested how you can help the players?

Our approach involves the use of a technique that gives very quick results. Now it is very popular in Germany and is widely used in sports. Dr. Andrewy Oros heard about it and took the opportunity to invite to work with the players during my visit to Moscow for the workshop. This is a new approach: We do not give players the opportunity to be treated with rest and are not distracted by extraneous things, we highlight the problem and narrowly focused work on a solution.

What is the essence of a technique?

For injuries almost always appears change of the fascia, and we are working on solving this. Then, we allow players to work on movements that were problematic. We define weakness, lack of mobility, imbalance and other symptoms - six different states of the injured area, and depending on this vary the techniques of work, the exact forces on the tissue to correct the distortion. Conduct short and directed treatment, which is especially important for athletes. It is clear that ordinary people simply spend time in rehab, they can spend, say, four weeks on the soft approach. Athletes also need to quickly get back in shape and take less medication.

Do you give recommendations for changing the training load?

Of course, it is always better to work in tandem. In the case of CSKA we interacted with Costas Chatzichristos, explaining how to support work done by us. It is important to have a full understanding. Costas - very experienced, open to new information specialist, he fully understood the essence of our approach. He understands that some of the techniques work as well, some - better. We tried to approach strictly individually to each person.

Are you affected by the change in the schedule of any of basketball CSKA?

No, I'm not a coach. I - only the therapist. We conducted the study. One of the players had a real problem, a significant limitation of motion in a joint. Another had decreased muscle strength previously injured leg. We treated each for 15 minutes, and the range of motion was restored, and the second increased strength weakened muscles. We were doing it in a team with Andrey and Costas - we watched and they already have ideas on how to support the treatment of training and how to prevent similar problems in the future.
Andrey will be able to continue on his own course of treatment. It is essential that all medical staff working together, supporting each other and interact with the coaches. It is important that the doctor had the courage to admit that in some cases he proposed technique does not work, and you need to try an alternative approach to look for help from colleagues. I see that therapists and coaches at CSKA very focused on your goals, and it's great.
